Shrimp Poem #2

If you have been a longtime follower of my blog, you may remember by monumental, epic poem, “Thoughts on Shrimp.” If you haven’t seen it, feel free to read it here. Take my word for it, it’s not very good.

Well, I had some shrimp today, and started feeling bad for the shrimp I was eating. I named one of them Shelby (before I ate her), and this is a poem from her perspective:

My name is Shelby

And I am a shrimp.

If you eat too much of me

You’ll become a blimp.

Someone ate my brother,

His name was Rick.

Rick was full of bacteria,

Which made that person sick.

If you like to eat shrimp,

I think you’re really mean.

Shrimp have feelings, too,

We’re not simply cuisine.

This mean girl named Molly

Ate my family, today.

And I can promise you,

I’m gonna make her pay.

Molly told her friends

She thinks shrimp are delicious.

But you know what I think?

I think she’s malicious.
