Last Tuesday, I was too busy Thanksgiving-ing to blog. But I think that it is very important to reflect on the things that I am most thankful for. God has definitely blessed me this year, and I often get caught up in all that I don’t have.
I will be mentioning some of the obvious things, such as my friends and my family. So I apologize if you view that as a cliche…but my friends and family are basically really awesome.
10. The ability to talk
Apparently, I’ve been really chatty ever since I learned to talk. It’s driven my siblings crazy, which is definitely something to be grateful for.
9. This past summer
I meant to get a job. Really, I did. But this summer was AWESOME. I think the picture pretty much sums up what I did every day.
8. Grove City College
Sometimes, I complain about Grove City, because it’s really hard and stressful and it makes me want to be a perfectionist. But truly, I am so lucky to be here. The classes challenge me, and I am always learning something new. The professors are always available and are generally really godly leaders. The food isn’t half bad. And there is always something fun going on.
I really, really, really, really (x100) love sleeping. And since, this semester, I haven’t gotten as much of it as I usually do, I’m even more grateful for it than usual. There is nothing like the feeling of being well-rested and ready for the day.
I basically wish that I could just read all of the time. Oh wait, I already do that. But I just love books–holding them, smelling them, cuddling with them…reading them.
5. Being an RA
It’s probably the most rewarding thing I have ever done. I love the fact that I get to live on a great hall with great people. My job is to love people. Have you ever heard of a job more awesome than that?
4. My cat
Cali is 18 years old, and she is the love of my life. I am actively searching for the Fountain of Youth so that she will never die. Sometimes, Cali and I talk on the phone. I’m a crazy cat lady, and I’m proud of it.
3. My friends
I have the best friends in the whole world. I’ve actually blogged about it before, so I don’t want to say too much and be repetitive. They make me a better person, and are the coolest people in the whole world. They’ve taught me so much about what it means to love and be loved.
2. My family
***Sorry that you didn’t make it into the picture, Emily, but I still haven’t forgiven you for saying that the best day of your life was the day I got my tonsils out***
I really have the greatest family ever. I don’t even know what else to say about it. I love you guys!
1. The grace of God
I never want this to be something that I take for granted. Ever. This year, especially, I have been incredibly aware of my sinfulness, and as a result, more and more aware of His amazing gift of grace. This is truly something to be grateful for.
